Because Office 2010 uses MAPI. Its WebDAV that has gone away.
It has NOTHING to do with protocol. If Windows Office uses MAPI, put MAPI in Mac Office. It's not rocket science. Point being - it CAN be done somehow. They choose not to do it because they are sabotaging Mac Office so it's always going to be inferior to the Windows version. If Intel comes out with a sub 3000 dollar machine with 4.7 Ghz, I'm sorry Apple, but you had better get something better than what you have.
I'm not going to be a customer of a company that charges just as much for 1/4 of their competitors product.
Go ahead and flame me...I know that the Mhz of the G4 and P4 don't match up in performance, but there's too big of a speed gap for there to be any doubt in my mind of which is faster.

Here's the catch, however: The tower itself isn't real. It's a fake recreation of a GSM base station that allows Paget to overpower the actual signals from real-life base stations. The end result? Cell phones connect to PagetNet�or whatever name he's assigned his creation�thinking that they're accessing an actual cell phone tower.
When that happens, Paget can listen in to the conversations and/or record them at his leisure. His device�an International Mobile Identity Subscriber catcher�bounces the call to an actual cell phone tower and the user is none the wiser, save for the fact that all inbound calls now go directly to said user's voicemail as the carrier considers the actual phone off-network.

First of all, i don't know how legit this is, but for argument sake let the OP be true.
I can see Apple giving the developers of Infinity Blade and Real Racing an iPhone with the A5 chip. Is it the iPhone 5? No. It's just an iPhone 4 + A5 chip.
The actual iPhone 5 will have much more features. Apple always does this, because at the end of the day they're a business and they will add features which they omitted from iPhone 4. To get everyone to upgrade.
I think iPhone 5 is Apple's top secret atm, hence we're barely hearing anything about it and it'll be May in a couple weeks.
If the iPhone 5 is to be launched in September, then it'll probably have killer features or else it makes no sense right?

I just hope Apple have fixed a lot of ridiculous little problems with Cocoa and the Task Switcher, etc. that they introduced with 10.4.7. I'm tired of quitting one application in Task Switcher and seeing another application's name in the menu bar while it's quitting.

So, apart from all the discussions about exFAT and all... am I the only one who wish the SD reader was in the front?
They could have made a black plastic strip the same thickness and width as the optical drive, meaning two long black strips in the front of the Mac mini instead of one, and put the reader on the far right of the second strip, just like the infrared receptor is at the right of the CD/DVD slot.
Or even better, design some kind of CD/DVD slot with an SD reader built-in.
I also wish Apple would be able to get the same slot-loading mini-CD/DVD capability as the Nintendo Wii.

From there I have a AirPort Extreme that is bridged providing wireless and a AirPort Express extending that. I *think* I can do some sort of VLAN setup from the SonicWall. Then use the AirPort Express as a guest AP.
I'm mainly a systems guy so while I won't shy away from doing some networking here and there but i'm not very familiar with how VLANs are configured. It is something I will look into though so thank you.

I figured this would be coming once I seen the Pioneer VSX-1021-K.
Me too! I am in the market for a new home theater set up, and the Pioneer was near the top of my list because of its compatibility with AirPlay. It would be nice to have it built in my new LED TV as well.

Hello everyone. I am making a highlight tape for my buddy. He gave me dvds from every game he played in last year. For me to get the dvd onto my computer I either use dvd remaster or handbrake to get it to a quicktime file..
My question is is there anyway that I can just rip like 30 second segments instead of the entire dvd to space some space. Ideally into a .mov. I would like to just put the timecode in and it rips that certain time.. Example : 1:05:07-1:06:23

Grrrrr, I can't decide. Looks like I'll probably get the 32GB.. 399 + $45 taxes. Anyone think $444 worth it for the older 32 or do better deals exist? I'm somewhat convinced since it is new.

Meh. Integrated stuff always fails first. See VHS/TV and DVD/TV combo units, or the lack of updates (and eventual phase-out) for TVs with built-in cable or sat tuners. I'll take it separately, thanks. My $8 HDMI cable is an amazing computer-to-TV device, does a great job.

I really hope T-Mobile isn't chosen...I had them for a year and a half and what horrible customer service. Not to mention that their coverage in Palm Springs, CA is horrible. Apple should go with Verizon, I did go with AT&T myself, but Verizon is rated highest of all the carriers for customer satisfaction and coverage.
I've been with T-mobile since the 1st sidekick and am still with them because of their customer service. They have the best CS IMO

I've been working in my spare time on creating a distrubted computer system based on Xgrid to render Blender 3D projects. It works well on my local LAN, but in the last week I've started to expand it to allow others to connect. So far the Grid has 10.6 Ghz registered to it via internet users.
Blender 3D is Opensource and supported on many platforms including Solaris, FreeBSD, Linux, OSX, and Windows. The major draw back is thus far only macintosh users have been able to connect and process jobs.
I've tried using windows boxes connecting through an opensource JAVA client and then do connect to the grid and accept tasks, but output an error stating "Blender could not be found at current location" or something to that effect. Basically I figure that blender has to be in the same place on all the machines.
I haven't gotten any Linux/BSD users to try the system yet, but there were some sucesses on local grids with Linux machines connenting and rendering works.
Help and advice are sorely welcome. You can check out www.blenderxgrid.com for more information.
